Joe's first trip to Lafayette

When we left Natchez, the boys and I went to Lafayette with Grandmommy for a few days. Brent had to work, so he wasn't able to join us. We had a good visit with my family.

Natchez Balloon Races

Joe's first trip to Natcez was for the Balloon Races the weekend of October 16-18. It was a beautiful weekend, but it was too windy for the balloons to go up. So, it was a little disappointing that we didn't get to see any balloons, but we did get to visit with friends. Jack enjoyed the rides at the festival, and he got to sit on a real motorcycle! On Sunday before we left, Susu had a Sip and See for us. Lots of ladies came to meet Joseph. It was a fun weekend!

Pumpkin Patch

Today we visited a local farm with our playgroup friends. Jack got to go on a hayride, play in the pumpkin patch, go through a maze made out of haystacks and enjoy lots of other fun activities. Some of the other moms got some great pictures, but since I was juggling Joe, mine are mostly candid shots of the day. Here are a few of them...

Notice the storm in the background...we barely beat the rain.

There was a great big "corn box" (like a sandbox with corn instead of sand.)

The farmer let the children jump around in the cotton.

Two month stats

We took Joe for his 2 month check-up yesterday. He is a healthy, growing baby! (I can't believe he is already 2 months old!) Here are his measurements:
weight = 12 pounds (95%)
height = 24 inches (95%)
head circumference = 39 cm (75%)

So, he's grown 3.5 inches and about 3.5 pounds in just 6 weeks. I promised I would not continually compare the boys, but it is fun to see how their sizes compare. Joe is 1/4" longer and .15 lbs lighter than Jack was at 2 months. (Jack also started out .5 lb heavier.) Jack's head was also bigger (in the 95th percentile.)

And, to answer the questtion everyone asks, yes, I think they do look a good bit alike. They certainly aren't identical, but they look very similar. (Will post pictures later this weekend)

Tailgating with friends

Yesterday was a beautiful day for tailgating! We had a great time with several friends of ours. (Unfortunately, I put the camera away and forgot to get pics of Avi Grace Anthony and the Edelblutes, who were also there.)

Layla Hill, Mac Parker, Emily Adkerson, Ashlyn Hill & Jack

Assorted pictures from the last month

I cannot believe how quickly time passes! Our baby boy is already 7 1/2 weeks old! He is changing and growing before my eyes. As much as I'd like to make nicely organized posts with complete narration, I don't see it happening anytime soon. The quick update is that he is really becoming more social and fattening up. A couple of weeks ago he started smiling socially and this past week he has started "talking" (cooing) a lot.SOOO...in an attempt to get some pics up and not get any further behind, here you go!

Swaddled and cozy for bedtime--the only way we get any rest! (8/26/09)

Pics from Grumps, Mimi, & Gramps' visit (9/5-9/6)

Such a precious little toothless grin!

You really think this pitiful swaddling job will keep me asleep?? (9/12)

LSU vs. MSU (9/26) -- Our good friend Shona and her baby girl, Savannah, came to visit for the weekend. Saturday morning the weather was terrible, but the rain stopped and we made it to the game for the fourth quarter. It was great having Shona and Savannah here! (For the record, Jack wore his LSU jersey with an MSU shirt underneath.)

Look how long he is! (9/29)
