Is that a mole?

Here's a recap of a conversation between Jack and Grandmommy that took place this evening. He was sitting in her lap visiting, and I almost had to leave the room because I was laughing so hard.....

Jack: What's that? (pointing to a mole on Grandmommy)
Grandmommy: That's a mole
Jack: Do I have any of those?
Grandmommy: I don't think so. I think you have a birthmark.
Jack: Look, I do have one. (Lifting his shirt and showing her a nipple)
Grandmommy: Well....that's not a mole.
Jack: What is it?
Grandmommy: It's a nipple.
Jack: Sometimes I pull on my nipple....Grandmommy, do you ever pull on your nipples?

10th Anniversary

Then...

August 7, 1999
and now...

August 7, 2009
I cannot believe we got married TEN years ago! I'm so lucky to be married to such a wonderful man! Thanks to our friends Kristin and Kevin for taking care of Jack so that we could enjoy dinner and a movie to not only celebrate this milestone but also to enjoy an uninterrupted meal before Joseph arrives. (To be honest, we didn't make big plans for tonight because we both thought we might either be in the hospital or home with a new baby by now. But, we're still awaiting the little guy's arrival and were able to enjoy a nice evening together.)

First Day of Three-Year-Old Preschool

Jack started a new preschool class yesterday (Wed, August 5). He is in Ms. Martha Malone's class and seemed really excited about moving to a "big kids" class. He must have had a good day, because when I got there to pick him up he said, "I don't want to go home."

This is Ms. Martha with Jack and his friend, Anna Karen.

Diaper Shower

A couple of weeks ago our Sunday School class had a diaper shower for us, and last night the choir had one for us. (No, neither of us sings well enough to be in the choir, but Brent plays the guitar for the praise band.) These were the BEST showers we could have asked for. We received SO many packs of diapers! And, they are just what we need! We unloaded them into the crib so that I could sort them and put them in the closet....I'm not sure where we're going to put the baby!

Getting Ready for Joseph's arrival

Joseph's nursery

I finished teaching summer school this week, the nursery is ready, the hospital bags are packed, I've done about all of the "nesting" I plan to do, and I don't think there is another smidge of room in my womb. We are ready for Joseph to make his arrival!
