Baths with the Lagraizes

While in NOLA for JazzFest, we stayed with the Lagraizes.

Jack, Eli, and Avery had fun with hair washing (with the help of Aaron's styling skills.)

Joe and Cecilia didn't want to miss the bathtime fun!

Joe meets Mike

We left Lafayette to head to NOLA for JazzFest and decided to stop off in Baton Rouge to visit Mike the Tiger. He was sleeping and didn't put on the same show he did when I took Jack to meet him for the first time. But, it was still a good stop and he is one impressive animal even when he sleeps!

Fishing with Daddy

We stayed in Lafayette for a few days following the International Festival.  One morning Brent and I took the boys to the pond in Grandmommy's neighborhood.  Grandmommy and I took Jack fishing last summer, but this was the first father-son fishing experience.

International Festival 2010

We went to Lafayette for the International Festival which is held the last weekend of April every year. It was quite hot, but since AOC films the whole thing, we had access to a tent and beverages backstage. We spent a lot of time hanging out there where we could still hear the music.

Joe and Brent peruse the the schedule for which acts they want to see.

Jack helps Grumps drive the golf cart.

Easter Egg Hunt at MSU

This was the first time Jack took a picture with the Easter bunny without tears! Last year he said he was going to take a picture with EB, and then he changed his mind at the last minute. I wasn't sure if he would go through with it this year, but he walked right up and gave him a big hug! Such a big boy! (Joe had no idea what was happening.)

Fenly Akers is Miss MSU, and she's also an outgoing officer in Lambda Sigma, an honor society I advise. Jack thought it was pretty cool to meet a real princess!

Photos by Jack

Jack picked up my camera and went on a photo shoot around the house and outside. For those who don't know my family, suffice it to say that photography is in the genes.  (My dad, uncle, cousin, and brother are all either professional or serious hobbyist photographers.)  The following are some of the pictures he took...

BEAUTIFUL spring day!

Today when we got home, Jack asked if he could play outside while I put the groceries away. I told him that he had to stay on our patio until I got outside. (I generally don't like him playing outside unsupervised. We live on a very safe street, but I still worry.) So, I kept an eye on him through the patio door while I put the groceries away. I snuck a few pictures of him climbing the trees that border the patio. He was pretending he was a monkey.

Then, after I got the groceries put away, we went for a walk, and he wanted to stop and smell the flowers in the neighbor's yard.

Then, we played hopscotch.

It was just a PERFECT day to be outside!
